GATE Token is the utility token that forms an integral part of Valereum’s ecosystem.
What is GATE Token’s utility? It includes the settlement of transaction fees for licensed users of ‘The Bridge’; discounted trading fees on VLRM marketplaces through paying fees in GATE Tokens; staking rewards; burning and governance.
TOKENOMICS
BRIDGE FEES
Transaction fees are payable to VLRM Technology by licensed users of ‘The Bridge’ including primary issuance; secondary trades and corporate actions. The transaction fees are distributed between: VLRM Technology - development and maintenance of ‘The Bridge’; GATE Token Stakers - paid in GATE Tokens bought in the open market; and Burning - GATE Token bought in open market and burned, removing them from circulation.
GOVERNANCE
VLRM operates a hybrid approach to governance. GATE Token stakers are able to vote on motions proposed by VLRM to GATE Token holders (e.g., the split of rewards vs burning ratio).

A split of the transaction fees payable to VLRM Technology by licensed users of ‘The Bridge’ is allocated as rewards to GATE Token stakers – ie. GATE token holders who hold and stake GATE on our dedicated staking platform are rewarded with GATE Tokens bought in the open market.
